OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors: dates, contents, cards

OP-17, The World's Strongest Warriors (French title: Les Guerriers les plus puissants au monde), was released on 22 August 2026 in Japan, then on 28 August 2026 in English and French, with in-store pre-release events from 21 August. It is the booster that brings the original Four Emperors together around Rocks D. Xebec, with six new leaders and a brand-new rarity, the Super Leader Parallel. Here is what you need to know before opening (or keeping sealed) a booster box.

OP-17 release dates

Bandai has narrowed the gap between languages as much as possible for this seventeenth main booster. According to the game's official websites:

VersionOfficial nameDate
Japanese世界最強の戦士 (ブースターパック)22 August 2026
EnglishBooster Pack -The World's Strongest Warriors-Pre-release on 21 August, release on 28 August 2026
FrenchBooster -Les Guerriers les plus puissants au monde-Early release on 21 August, release on 28 August 2026

So only one week separates the Japanese version from the Western versions. For Belgian and French collectors, that changes a lot: there is no longer much point importing Japanese product "to get the cards before everyone else".

The contents: 131 cards and 4 DON!! cards

The official list announces 131 card types, plus 4 DON!! cards with special artwork. The Japanese version gives the breakdown:

  • 6 Leaders
  • 45 Commons, 30 Uncommons and 26 Rares
  • 10 Super Rares
  • 3 Secret Rares
  • 1 Treasure Rare
  • 10 Special cards (SP)

On top of that come Parallel (alternate-art) versions of many cards. As for format, a Japanese booster pack contains 6 cards, whereas the English and French packs in the range contain 12. The English and French booster boxes we list hold 24 packs.

The six leaders

Each colour gets a new leader, and the cast lives up to the set's name:

  • Edward Newgate (red, OP17-001), aka Whitebeard;
  • Shanks (green, OP17-020);
  • Rocks D. Xebec (blue, OP17-039), captain of the Rocks Pirates;
  • Kaido (purple, OP17-058);
  • Monkey D. Luffy (black, OP17-079), who combines the Elbaph, Four Emperors and Straw Hat Crew types;
  • Charlotte Linlin (yellow, OP17-099), aka Big Mom.

For players, that means six new deck foundations at once. For collectors, it is above all the alternate versions of these leaders that will draw attention.

Cards to watch

Luffy's Super Leader Parallel

New in OP-17: the Super Leader Parallel, a special version of a Leader card illustrated with panels from the original manga. Bandai is presenting it with Luffy OP17-079. It is the first time a leader has received this treatment, which naturally makes it one of the most sought-after cards in the booster.

The Emperors' Super Parallels

The Super Parallels (often called "manga rares" by the community) feature the captains of the Whitebeard, Red-Haired, Beasts and Big Mom Pirates. The booster also introduces Super Parallels dedicated to a pirate crew, starting with the Straw Hat Crew.

Treasure Rare and Secret Rares

The OP-17 Treasure Rare is a version of Edward Newgate (OP17-040). The two new Secret Rares are Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-118) and Loki (OP17-119), the giant of Elbaph.

The "Conqueror's Haki" SP cards

The ten Special cards feature characters already released in other products, on a Conqueror's Haki theme: among them are Roronoa Zoro, Shanks, Gol D. Roger, Silvers Rayleigh, Yamato, Marshall D. Teach and Kozuki Oden.

Booster box, double pack or set: which format should you choose?

OP-17 comes in several sealed products. The booster box remains the logical choice for opening in quantity or keeping an intact box in your collection. The Double Pack Set Vol.12 (DP-12), released the same day in English and French, is a lighter way in. The Set Sail Deck Set (SD-01), available since 18 September 2026, combines two ready-to-play decks and an OP-17 booster pack. Finally, the Mini Case Set Luffy/Shanks/Hancock (TS-03), scheduled for 30 October 2026, contains two OP-17 booster packs and a promo card from six possible artworks.
